The Willy's Jeep of the Second World War saw widespread use amongst the Allies and was produced in the hundreds of thousands. The Jeep was used for both military and civilian purposes and the design has endured long after the war. The British Army used a slightly modified Jeep for its airborne operations, carrying it in Horsa Gliders.
