The Ki-84 is generally considered the best Japanese fighter to operate in large numbers during WW II. The aircraft possessed high speeds and excellent maneuverability with an armament that gave it formidable firepower. The number of the Hayate produced by the end of World War II totaled about 3,500 and its peformance was equal to, or higher than that of the Allies' fighters. The Allied code name was Frank.
